| ABOUT RAW~A LESSON FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE When I first started reading about the Raw Food lifestyle, I read everything I could to become well informed. I have been on many Raw forums, visited Raw blogs, viewed DVD's & read over a dozen books on the Raw lifestyle. So.....Why Raw????? Well, here's a quick synopsis on the Raw Food Lifestyle from my viewpoint. Now, I am not a Dr. or nutritionist, but I am writing from my personal experiences. Ok, this About Raw page is a VERY simplified version of all the information available on Raw and it is valuable for everyone to do research themselves by reading as much as they can about the Raw Food lifestyle. When you heat food above 112 degrees, you eliminate most if not all of the vitamins, minerals & enzymes. Enzymes are the *spark of life*. We are born with a certain number of enzymes in our system for digestion. When you are young, you can eat *junk-food* & feel OK, but as you age you start to feel lethargic after meals. It takes a LOT of energy for your body to digest food properly to be used for energy. If you consume food that is Raw they have the enzymes intact & you're not using up your *born with* enzymes for digestion. You will suddenly feel light & vibrant after meals instead of stuffed & tired. All the vitamins and minerals are also available to help nourish your body. Your body can then begin healing & your energy will soar! Another thing that I have discovered on my Raw Journey is that when I eat Raw foods, I am totally satisfied with not as much volume of food. This has the effect of WEIGHT LOSS!!!! YIPPEE !!! I believe this is a result of my body getting true nutrition when before I was shoveling in food to just fill my stomach. Basically, *I was an overfed chick who was undernourished.* OK...so enough of the technical *jargon*. Another reason to eat Raw is that it is the cleanest & healthiest way to eat. I believe that we are put on this earth to eat what was created by God. Fruits, vegetables, nuts & seeds offer so much in variety. Boxed meals loaded with preservative, additives, colorings, etc are not nutritional food sources. I know that if I stray from Raw, I can feel it immediately. As soon as I eat raw again, I feel alive & vibrant. Before I went Raw, as I tell in the MY STORY page of my site, I was on numerous medications, suffering from terrible pain from fibromyalgia, obese, etc. Since going Raw, I have changed my life. I am pain free, off numerous medications & look younger and more vibrant. I could go on & on about the changes the Raw lifestyle has made in my life. You can't argue with success! There are many books available on Raw & I will be adding links as I build my site. Again, this is just a quick and easy read about all the benefits of the Raw Food Lifestyle.
